Soaking Prayer

What is Soaking, Contemplative Prayer?

It is a time we set aside to quiet ourselves and devote our attention and our hearts to our Heavenly Father, Our King, Our Sovereign Lord. He so desperately wants to reveal His passionate love for us. It is a time to allow Him to minister to us. It is a time for us to receive from Him. It is a time for Him to delight in us and us in Him. We will play worship music and read scripture to you as you soak in his presence.

How do I know if I need Soaking Prayer?

If you are spiritually dry, soaking can revitalize your spirit.
If you long to move more powerfully in the gifts of the Spirit, soaking can help you hear God more clearly.
If you are looking for fresh vision and direction in life, soaking can bring it.
If you are hurting inside, soaking can ease the pain.
If you are about to start something new and need the Lord's strengthening, soaking can refresh you.
If you are searching for an answer to a problem/situation, soaking can help you find the way.
If you carry responsibilities, soaking can lift your burden.
If you are trapped by a habitual sin, soaking can empower you to break free.
If you are having relationship difficulties, soaking can give you new resources of grace, patience and love.
If you simply want to have more intimacy in your love for your Heavenly Father, soaking can take you deeper.

What should I bring to my Soaking Prayer Session?

The key is to be comfortable so you are able to relax and receive. You may want to consider bringing the following items with you.

A pillow, blanket and/or something comfortable to lie down or sit on; a bottle of water; a notepad and pencil to record anything the Lord might give you during your prayer time; your Bible and an open heart.

When Does it Meet?

Soaking Prayer meets every 2nd Wednesday of the month from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the church.
