THE EXPERIMENT

September 9th began our third year of offering The Experiment for all those who are part of the fellowship but wish to have a fresh experience in small covenant group life. Through these three years almost one hundred parishioners have taken part in this vital discipleship event.

We offer this experience because we believe there is a growing critical need for a renaissance of a deepening relationship with God and with one another. We also believe there is a great hunger for belonging in our day, and unfortunately, for many the church at large has become a "come and sit society." More than ever, we need to recover the biblical dream of the church as a caring community of people, committed to God and actively ministering to one another.

We will offer another opportunity to be part of the Spring Experiment which will begin April 20th through May 11th (four Sunday evenings) from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the home of Fr Tony and Bobbi Baron.

If you haven't taken advantage of this growth experience, we ask you to write these dates on your 2008 calendar so you won't miss it again. For more information about the upcoming Experiment or simply about small covenant groups, give Donna Brayton a call at 760-672-4536.

SMALL GROUPS

In this day and age there is a tendency to emphasize political and social action as the primary way to serve God. Within this process the absolute relevance of obedience to Christ is lost. When that happens, Christianity becomes weakened in the world around us. However at Saint Anne's our focus is encouraging our congregation to Learn to Live as Jesus Lived and to Do What Jesus Did.

Part of that "learning" happens when we begin to know each other at a deeper level. Perhaps more than ever, we need to recover the biblical dream of the church as a caring community of people, committed to God and actively ministering to one another and that does happen very quickly as a member of our small covenant groups.
