"To minister healing and restoration to God's hurting people."
The Christian Healing Center (CHC) welcomes Fr. Joe Rees as Executive Director.
We continue to uphold the vision of our founder, Fr. Anthony Baron:

On September 1st, 2007, Fr. Joe Rees became the new Executive Director of the
Christian Healing Center. Fr. Joe brings a passion for the Lord Jesus'
mission of healing those who are in need; body, mind, and spirit. Scripture
teaches us that the gifts of the Holy Spirit were given that we should lay hands on
the sick and they would be healed. "I want very much to model the Lord
Jesus' way of listening, loving and praying for His people in need, anointing them
with oil and praying for them to be released from all oppression and
degradation of their spiritual life with the Lord", says Fr. Joe. We have seen many
people touched by God in such a way that they have been set free and released
for new life in Christ Jesus.

Fr. Joe is available for prayer by
appointment and the CHC office can schedule time with prayer ministers who will
pray for you and listen carefully to your need. Fr. Joe is looking forward to raising
the visibility of the CHC in our community and hopes that many more will come to
receive healing prayer. We plan to work with other churches in our North County
area to 'get the word out' that what we have at the CHC is Good News indeed.
Whether you are in need of spiritual counseling, prayerful support, or are seeking a
deeper walk with God, the Christian Healing Center opens its doors and heart to
you with these offerings, ministering the healing love of God to the whole person -- spirit, mind,
emotions, body, will and relationships -- through: personal prayer, spiritual
direction and pastoral counseling.
PRAYER MINISTRY
Healing prayer ministry is allowing God's love and mercy to bring healing to the
whole person. Often there are obstacles to greater intimacy with the Father, and in
personal relationships. Prayer ministry helps identify these obstacles, such as
guilt, fear, a sense of unworthiness, unbelief, addictive behaviors, old resentments
and unforgiveness. Through the power of God's Word and his love, these obstacles
are overcome and removed. Individuals experience new freedom, peace, joy,
and ability to love and be loved!

Who is it for?
Anyone who desires to draw closer to God and experience more of his love and
power in their lives. Those who want to choose to be free and walk in the light of
God's love and presence.

What happens there?
Individuals receive prayer from trained prayer ministers who are used by the Lord
to bring his compassion and love which comforts the brokenhearted and heals the
diseases of the soul and spirit. Physical healing may occur as well.

When and where does it meet?
Prayer ministry opportunities are available by appointment Tuesday through
Friday, 9:00AM until 2:00PM, at the Christian Healing Center located at 1002
Coast Highway which is to the far west of St. Anne's property. There is also a
walk-in prayer without appointment from 12:00PM--3:00PM on the 2nd & 4th
Saturdays.

Who should I contact?

PASTORAL COUNSELING
SPIRITUAL DIRECTION
Spiritual Direction is part of the three-fold ministry package that the
Christian Healing Center offers. Since the dawn of the Christian faith,
spiritually hungry individuals have been finding the answer to these
longings in the tradition of "spiritual direction." To explain how the CHC
views this ministry, we turn to the words of Henri Nouwen from his
book Reaching Out:

"How do we know that we are not deluding ourselves, that we are
not selecting those words that best fit our passions, that we are not
just listening to the voice of our own imagination? Who can determine
if feelings and insights are leading in the right direction?

Our God is greater than our own heart and mind, and too easily we
are tempted to make our heart's desires and our mind's speculations
into the will of God. Therefore, we need a guide, a director, a
counselor who helps us to distinguish between the voice of God
and all other voices coming from our own confusion or from dark
powers far beyond our control.

We need someone who encourages us when we are tempted to
give it all up, to forget it all, to just walk away in despair. We need
someone who discourages us when we move too rashly in unclear
directions or hurry proudly to a nebulous goal. We need someone
who can suggest to us when to read and when to be silent, which
words to reflect upon and what to do when silence creates much
fear and little peace."

If those words resonate in you heart of hearts, call the CHC for an
appointment with a Spiritual Director at 760-966-2956.
